ZEPH CAISSIE
Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Zeph Caissie began Irish dancing at the age of 4 with the Tony Comerford School of Irish Dance. Throughout his competitive career, Zeph garnered many top international placements, including 2nd at the Great Britain Championships, 2nd at the All Ireland Championships, 3rd in the North American Irish Dancing Championships, and 4th in the World Championships. Upon the completion of his competitive career, Zeph was contracted to perform with Riverdance - The Show, and toured with the company for 9 years. Throughout his journey as a professional dancer, Zeph performed at a multitude of prestigious venues including Radio City Music Hall in New York, the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the Palais Omnisport in Paris, The Great People’s Hall in China, The International Forum in Tokyo, Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan, Cirkus Arena in Stockholm, Capitol Theatre in Australia, and was a cast member of Riverdance - On Broadway for a 9 month run at the Gershwin Theatre in New York.
Upon the completion of his professional dancing career, Zeph attained his teaching certification (T.C.R.G.) from An Coimisiún le Rinci Gaelacha, and relocated to Halifax, Nova Scotia to open Diaga Irish Dance in 2010. Throughout his career as a teacher, Zeph has produced a multitude of Champion dancers and has become renowned for his brilliant choreography and exacting standards. Zeph choreographed for the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo in five separate productions, at Celtic Colours International Festival with the Chieftains on two separate occasions, and represented Canada with a troupe of dancers from the Maritimes at the Hamburg Polizeishow in two acclaimed productions. Zeph is also the first and only teacher from Atlantic Canada to have a student win a Recall medal at the World Irish Dancing Championships.
Zeph Caissie is the director of Diaga Irish Dance, and is as passionate about Irish dance today as when he first began.
